29 Year Old Killed by Tree Limb

On Sunday, November 16th, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Ramapo Police responded to an unresponsive male in a motor vehicle at 445 S. Pascack Rd, in the Chestnut Ridge area of the town. Initial reports were that the male was entrapped in the vehicle, but arriving officers observed that medical personnel had gained access and were rendering aid to the operator. The operator regained consciousness and was speaking with first responders on the scene. The limb penetrated the windshield and struck the driver’s compartment area. The vehicle rolled forward hitting another tree at a slow speed. South Spring Valley Fire Department, Faist Ambulance Corps, Hatzoloh Ambulance Corps, and Rockland Paramedics were on scene. The driver, 29-year-old Yisroel Freeman of Chestnut Ridge, was transported to Westchester Medical Center via Hatzoloh Ambulance Corps, where he later passed away of his injuries.
