Rockland County Legislature Vice Chair Dr. Aney Paul and Together Our Unity Can Heal (TOUCH) have partnered for the 4th consecutive year to conduct a Winter Coat & Warm Clothing drive for children and adults.
“This effort is an opportunity for all of us to come together to show our struggling neighbors that we care about them and that they are not alone,” Legislator Paul said.
Donations of new or very gently used coats and warm clothing for children and adults will be accepted through Dec. 10. Items may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the Legislature’s Office, 11 New Hempstead Road in New City. Please call (845) 638-5100 for additional information or assistance.
TOUCH is a community-based public health organization dedicated to providing compassionate, effective support to our neighbors in the Hudson Valley. A Ryan White AIDS Service Organization for more than 30 years, TOUCH works to strengthen community health and improve quality of life for individuals and families.
In recent weeks, TOUCH has also stepped up to respond to the SNAP crisis, helping provide food to those whose benefits lapsed during the federal government shutdown. TOUCH is one of many local pantries offering essential nutritional support to households across Rockland County, separate from the SNAP efforts.
Except for 2020, Legislator Paul has sponsored a Winter Coat Drive annually since 2015, partnering with local social services agencies to assist Rockland County residents. In 2020, she organized a special food drive to help families impacted by the pandemic and related shutdowns.
“I ask everyone to please donate whatever you can, and to know that your contribution will be warmly welcomed and deeply appreciated,” Legislator Paul said.
