Just in time for the holidays, Walmart customers in Suffern were welcomed inside the newly transformed store at 250 Route 59 this morning, as the much-anticipated project is now complete. Creating omni-shopping experiences that save customers time and money, Walmart continues its transformational journey to become America’s favorite place to shop, whether in-store, online, or via the mobile app.
Walmart associates marked the occasion this morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community celebration, and the unveiling of a community-inspired mural. The Mayor of Airmont, Nathan Bubel, and the Deputy Mayor, Shimon Moses, attended the ceremony.
“At Walmart, enhancing our customers’ shopping experience is always a priority,” said Nicoleta Spiridon, Walmart store manager. “This transformation not only brings exciting new features and improvements to our store but also reflects our deep commitment to better serving the community. We’re proud to provide a refreshed, more convenient shopping environment that meets the evolving needs of our customers. A big thank you to our dedicated associates and leadership team for their hard work in making this renovation a success.”
Adding to the festive atmosphere, there were multiple giveaways during the celebration. The participating vendors included Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, and Bimbo.
During this morning’s celebration, store leaders and associates highlighted the transformation as well as the new features available to customers, including:
Pharmacy department updates
Reconfigured store layout, creating more space for customers to explore and discover the breadth and depth of what their local store has to offer
Refreshed interior and exterior with new signage for easier navigation through the stores
An overall refreshed look of the store
To celebrate the reopening, the store honored more than a dozen long-term associates with more than 20 years of experience whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact on the community.
Walmart reinforced its commitment to the Suffern community by awarding Spark Good local grants to seven different organizations. The Keep Rockland Beautiful organization received $2,000, and Sankofa Bridge was awarded $1,500. Organizations that were awarded $1,000 grants were Toys for Tots, Felix Organization-Adoptees for Children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and St Anne. My Happy Place Animal Sanctuary received $500.
Customers visiting the revamped Walmart now enjoy a wider assortment of products and, with options like online pickup, delivery, express delivery, and Walmart Pay, they can get what they need, when they need it—resulting in a faster, more convenient shopping experience.
