One Haverstraw and One Tomkin’s Cove Resident are on Santa’s Naughty List

On November 25, 2025, at approximately 6:15 AM, the Stony Point Police Department received the first of numerous calls reporting larcenies from vehicles. Over the next few hours eight complaints were received from residents in a neighborhood off S. Liberty Dr.  Investigating officers obtained several security videos showing a subject entering vehicles and  removing property. The officers were able to develop a suspect with the assistance of the Haverstraw Police Department’s recent arrest of Wellington Remigio, a 37 year old man from Haverstraw, after a string of similar larcenies in the Haverstraw area.

As the investigation continued and the Officers conducted interviews and obtained additional security videos, information was received that Remigio, the above-listed defendant, was inside of  a business on S. Liberty Dr. Arriving officers located the defendant and placed him under arrest.

Remigio was in possession of some of the property removed from vehicles earlier in the morning. The officers were able to locate numerous items that were stolen from vehicles in a garbage can outside of the Stony Point Budget Motor Inn. The above-listed defendant rented a room at the motel on November 24, 2025, and left early on November 25, 2025. A search of the defendant’s person also produced crack cocaine.

The defendant was arrested, transported to the station for processing, and arraigned at the Stony Point Justice Court. He was remanded to Rockland County Jail on $5,000 bail.

As the investigation continued, the Officers conducted interviews and obtained additional security videos from the area. They were able to secure clear video from the Stony Point Budget Motor Inn that showed the 34 year old Tomkins Cove resident Elizabeth Martello also  in possession of some of the items that were stolen from the vehicles earlier that morning. Martello had stayed at the motel with Remigio and those items were recovered near the time of his arrest.

On December 2, 2025, at approximately 8:25 AM, Martello was observed on N. Liberty Dr. in Tomkins Cove, NY when she was placed under arrest. She was  transported to the station for processing, arraigned at the Stony Point Justice Court, and remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $250 bail for an active Bench Warrant and numerous failures to appear.

It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and an individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
