Spring Valley Convenience Store Robbed

Suspected burglar found with over $2,000

On January 1, 2026, at approximately 6:59 a.m., a Spring Valley Police Officer  was flagged down at 37 South Main Street regarding a shattered front door at Aim’s Convenient Store. Upon inspection, it was determined that the business had been burglarized during the overnight hours. The owner reported that approximately $2,000 had been stolen from the cash register. Members of the  Spring Valley Detective Bureau were dispatched to investigate.  

While detectives were en route, Spring Valley Police received a separate report of a broken window at 19 South Main Street, Club De Nutrition. Further investigation  revealed that this business had also been burglarized, with approximately $60 reported stolen. Detectives responded to that location as well.  

An immediate investigation was conducted, during which Spring Valley Police  identified the suspect as 32-year-old Spring Valley resident Jamaal Jack. Mr. Jack  was arrested later that evening on January 1, 2026.  

In total, Mr. Jack was charged with two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree (D Felony), two counts of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (E Felony), one  count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (E Felony), and one count of Petit  Larceny (A Misdemeanor).  

Mr. Jack was arraigned in the Spring Valley Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Mellion. Mr. Jack was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.  

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
