Damani Steadman, 21, of Tomkins Cove, New York, has been arrested after an eight-month investigation led by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Steadman was arraigned on January 16th before the Honorable David M. Ascher in Rockland County Court on a sealed indictment charging him with 25 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child.
This investigation began with a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that was referred to the Rockland County District Attorney’s ICAC Task Force. The results of the investigation led to the execution of multiple search warrants on the defendant’s internet accounts, electronic devices, and home.
The defendant was required to surrender his passport. The matter was adjourned to February 3, 2026, for conference.
“My Office, working alongside our law enforcement partners, will continue to aggressively pursue anyone who exploits children,” said District Attorney Walsh. “I’m proud of the teamwork behind this investigation and our shared commitment to protecting our children and our county.”
The investigation was conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney’s ICAC Task Force with assistance from the Stony Point Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the New York State Police.
The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III.
*It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and that a defendant should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
