Last Tuesday, the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce awarded the Nanuet Civic Association and Nanuet-West Nyack Rotary Club with the Partnership in Progress (PIP) Award. This award recognizes exceptional contributions to the community.
The Nanuet Civic Association was founded to promote neighborhood unity and civic awareness. The association also organizes beautification projects and serves as a liaison between community members and local government. The Civic Association prioritizes a grass-roots approach committed to improving Nanuet life, regularly collaborating with the Chamber at events such as the Nanuet Street Fair and the Nanuet Tree Lighting.
Like the Civic Association, the Nanuet-West Nyack Rotary Club is volunteer oriented. Part of a larger international organization, the Rotary Club’s mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, all guided by their motto “Service Above Self.”
President of the Nanuet Chamber Board Jerry Tuchband explained the Chamber’s mission to support and collaborate with local organizations, exemplified through collaboration in event such as Bingo Night and the Nanuet Fall Festival.
Tuchband then introduced Intergovernmental Relations Coordinator Jeff Gillies, who described new business plans for 2026 in Nanuet, including parking developments and major grants.
Previous recipients of the PIP award include the Clarkstown Police/Auxiliary Police, Nanuet Fire Engine Company & Nanuet Community Ambulance Corp, Bailey’s Nanuet Restaurant, Banchetto Feast and Bach to Rock.
