Hopper House Awarded $40,000

The Edward Hopper House has received $40,000 in a Support for Operations grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

“New York’s arts and culture sector is a cornerstone of the state’s identity, and we’re making bold investments to ensure it remains strong,” Governor Hochul said. “These grants will lift up artists and organizations in every region, fueling local economies and expanding access to the arts. Congratulations to all the grantees – your talent and dedication help power New York’s future.”

“Thank you to NYSCA for this investment in our future,” says Kathleen Motes Bennewitz, Executive Director of the Edward Hopper House Museum. “We are incredibly grateful to Governor Hochul and NYSCA for this vital support. Through this grant we will keep our doors open wide to the birthplace of one of America’s most iconic artists, continuing to present world-class programming for our local and global visitors alike.”

The museum has stated that the grant will help support the museum’s daily operations, community outreach, exhibitions, jazz series, and educational programs.
