On Thursday, January 21, 2026, the Ramapo PD was informed of an alleged sexual assault upon a child that had occurred in the Village of Chestnut Ridge. Through a comprehensive investigation, it was learned that the child had been sexually assaulted and raped on numerous occasions over the course of a year and a half. The suspect was located on January 21, 2026, and charged with the following:
- Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child (A-II Felony)
- Rape 1st Degree (B-Felony- 3 counts)
- Rape 1st Degree (B-Felony- 1 count)
- Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child (B-Felony)
- Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (D-Felony-3 counts)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A-Misdemeanor)
The suspect was arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court by Honorable Judge Silva. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Rockland County Jail upon completion of arraignment pending future court appearances.
The Ramapo Police Department was assisted in the investigation by Rockland County Child Protective Services.
All names are being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
