Spring Valley Man Held Against His Will

On January 13, 2026, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Spring Valley Police  Department responded to a report of a robbery.  

During the investigation, it was learned that the victim was held against his  will for several hours by two men, during which time he was assaulted, and  property was stolen from him.  

As a result of the investigation, Spring Valley Police identified and arrested  two suspects on February 2, 2026: Adil Awan, 39, of Spring Valley, New  York, and his brother, Adeel Awan, 44, of Mahwah, New Jersey.  

Adeel Awan has been charged with Robbery in the Second Degree (C  felony), Kidnapping in the Second Degree (B felony), Burglary in the  Second Degree (C felony), Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (E felony),  Assault in the Third Degree (A misdemeanor), and Harassment in the  Second Degree (violation).  

Adil Awan has been charged with Robbery in the Second Degree (C  felony), Kidnapping in the Second Degree (B felony), Assault in the Third  Degree (A misdemeanor), and Harassment in the Second Degree  (violation).  

Both defendants were arraigned in the Spring Valley Justice Court and were  remanded to the Rockland County Jail.  

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed  innocent until proven guilty.
