All In with John Jastremski
We’ve hit the home stretch of the 25/26 NBA season.
The All Star break has come and gone. The playoffs are a little under 2 months to go.
In Knicks Land, there has been an unsolved mystery for most of this season trying to be figured out.
What has happened to Karl Anthony Towns 3 point shot?
Yes, the re-litigation of the KAT trade, his strengths and yes his weaknesses have been well documented since his Knicks arrival in October of 2024.Â
However, year one was a resounding success for KAT.
KAT was an all NBA player. He was instrumental in leading the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years.Â
One of the biggest strengths of KAT’s game a year ago was one of the best three PT strokes for any big man in the game.Â
For most of this season, KAT’s jump shot has been lost under one of the massive snow banks piled up on the New York City streets this winter.
Why? Is it Mike Brown’s system? A lack of touches? Perhaps it stems from a lack of confidence with all of the trade rumors that have been brewing.
It has been incredibly problematic for the Knicks, but this past weekend, something seemed to be unlocked for KAT.
The shooting touch that has eluded him for most of this season was very much rediscovered.
On Saturday’s thrilling comeback against the Rockets, KAT was 10-15 and 3/3 from 3 pt range for 25 points.
Sunday against the Bulls was arguably his best game of the season.
KAT scored 28 points, but was a lethal 5/9 from 3 PT range which included a dagger 3 late in the 4th quarter.
These back to back monster efforts are a super encouraging sign.
The Knicks need Karl Anthony Towns.Â
He is an all NBA player and a talented one at that.
He needs to play like one if the Knicks want to achieve their ultimate goals this spring.
Hopefully the KAT renaissance has begun!
