USPS Worker Shoves Child

Videos of a mail carrier assaulting a young child in Monsey have flooded the internet, the shocking images making it all the way to national news. 

In the video, a young child is seen walking over to a postbox. From behind the postbox, a USPS worker comes running and purposefully shoves the reportedly four year old boy, sending him flying and landing on his back. The little boy stands up, retrieves his kippah that had flown from his head during the fall, and walks away. The video is an incredibly tough watch. 

The Town of Ramapo PD have identified the suspect as 39 year old Gabriel Stan of Stony Point. Stan has been charged with Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, an E Felony, as well as Endangering the Welfare of a Child, an A Misdemeanor and Attempted Assault in the Third Degree, a B Misdemeanor. 

Rockland County Legislators Itamar Yeger and Joel Friedman have released a joint statement addressing the assault, saying, “We want to acknowledge the Ramapo Police Department and Chaverim for their actions regarding this incident, where a mail carrier appears to have allegedly violently punched and shoved a child to the ground. No matter the circumstances, violence against children is never acceptable. We condemn all harm to children in the strongest terms.”
