Valley Cottage Baseball Player Brings Win for Saint Michael’s

Sophomore Jerry Guzman (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Brunswick School) hit a three-run walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning of the second half of a Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader on Sunday, lifting the Saint Michael’s College baseball team over Adelphi University, 11-10. The Purple Knights played the home team at William J. Bonomo Memorial Field after the four-game weekend series was moved from Colchester, Vt. The Panthers won the opener, 8-5 in seven innings.

This was a record for the Saint Michael’s College baseball team. Saint Michael’s overcame four deficits to capture the nightcap, when Guzman came through with his second career walk-off hit, which also delivered himself the pitching victory. Way to represent Valley Cottage and Rockland as a whole!
