The county has announced the launch of the Global Rhythms Summer Festival, a multi-part cultural celebration designed to capitalize on the global momentum of the 2026 FIFA World Cup while showcasing the County’s unique destination appeal, thriving small businesses, and diverse communities.
“Attracting tourism dollars keeps our local economy strong and generates revenue that ultimately reduces the financial burden on Rockland’s residents,” said County Executive Ed Day. “The average household in Rockland would have to pay an additional $675 in yearly property taxes to maintain current services if not for tourism-generated sales and local taxes.”
The festival, produced in partnership with Market NY, will transform its host community into a vibrant, globally inspired street festival, encouraging attendees to explore local restaurants, shops, and entertainment.
Festival Dates & Locations:
• June 27 – Pearl River
• July 5 – Village of Nyack
• July 19 – Nanuet
There is a 4th event tentatively scheduled for June 13 in the Village of Suffern but not yet confirmed.
Timed alongside the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the festival will also feature interactive workshops, art exhibitions, sports activities, and dedicated fan zones, including large screens for match viewing. With events occurring throughout the County, Global Rhythms is designed to bring new visibility to Rockland’s destination assets—from riverfront villages and scenic outdoor spaces to international dining, boutique shopping, and walkable downtowns.
