Ramapo Child Dies After Being Hit By Car

 On June 2, 2026, at approximately 5:39 pm, officers responded to the intersection of  Ravenna Drive and Tiffin Lane in the northeast section of the Town of Ramapo for a  reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers on scene were advised that an 8-year-old female resident of Ramapo was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a 2025 GMC  Hummer being operated by a 34-year-old Ramapo resident. The bicyclist was transported  to Nyack Hospital by Hatzoloh Volunteer Ambulance Corps where she was pronounced  deceased by medical staff. No criminal charges have been filed at this time, and the crash remains under investigation by the Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit.
