Neurosurgeon and Montebello Mayor Jeff Oppeneheim has endorsed businessman and noted tax-cutting Rye Town Supervisor Joe Carvin in New York’s 17th Congressional District (Westchester-Rockland.)
“Joe Carvin is the ideal Republican candidate to challenge Nita Lowey in November,” said Dr. Oppenheim, who had previously considered running for the seat. “He is a fiscal hawk and a fiscal expert at a time where both are urgently needed in Washington. Joe is also committed, along with his brother, to overturning Obamacare before it bankrupts this country.”
As Rye Town Supervisor, Joe Carvin has reduced spending by 25 percent and lowered taxes every year he has served in office. He has refused to accept a salary for the job. Carvin is the brother of attorney Michael Carvin who is arguing against Obamacare before the U.S. Supreme Court.
“I am deeply grateful to Mayor Oppenheim for his support and his confidence in my ability to defeat Nita Lowey and the Obama Agenda in November,” Carvin said. “This country is at a crossroads. We can either elect the same people who have destroyed the U.S.job market and saddled us with near-insurmountable debt, or we can elect new people to Congress with the real-world, practical experience to begin digging us out. I am confident that with the help of leaders like Dr. Oppenheim, Rockland and Westchester voters will choose the correct path.”
