Ricky Sanchez Announces Run for Haverstraw Trustee

Former Haverstraw Deputy Mayor and current village gadfly Ricky Sanchez has announced he is running for Village of Haverstraw trustee in 2012.

It’s been almost a decade since Sanchez served in government and he’s lost several elections since then, including some by very narrow margins. Sanchez served two terms as Trustee of the Village of Haverstraw and Deputy Mayor (1995 – 2003). He is running on the platform of bringing back revitalization, no tax increases/fiscal discipline and tough policing to get drugs and gangs off the streets.

The Rockland County Times has not heard from other candidates as yet, although it is expected that incumbent Emily Dominguez will be among those putting their hats in the ring.
