ACCUSED OF MAKING HURRICANE SANDY WORSE

Julio C. Caceres, 51, of 146 Dara Lane in Stony Point, is accused of stealing a Jeep from the Ba Mar Mobile Home Park during the clean-up and aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, making the suffering of a local family worse than mother nature already had done.

Caceres is charged with fourth degree grand larceny, an E-felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, also an E-felony.

On January 17, the Stony Point Police Department arrested the defendant following an investigation into the theft of a 1992 Jeep. The defendant was found in possession of said vehicle, which was recovered at #48 West St. Haverstraw, N.Y. The defendant was issued an appearance ticket returnable in Stony Point Justice Court on February 21.
