crimeSEXUAL ABUSE

Jefferson Cabrera, age 26, residing at 61 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY, was sentenced April 30, 2013, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of 2 ½ years and 10 years post release supervision after pleading guilty to sexual abuse in the first degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about early April, 2012, and on or about April 30, 2012, the defendant fondled the penis of a six year old boy who was known to him at his residence.

ATTEMPTED ASSAULT
Eric Davis, age 27, residing at 48 Clinton Street, Spring Valley, NY, was sentenced May 1, 2013, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 5 ½ years and 3 years post release supervision after pleading guilty to attempted assault in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about May 11, 2012 at approximately 10:50 a.m., the defendant approached the victim from behind while the victim was on the porch of 83 Fred Hecht Drive, Spring Valley speaking with other individuals. The defendant stabbed the victim multiple times in the back and chest with a knife. The victim was rushed to the nearest local hospital where he was treated for multiple stab wounds.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Terrance Wright, age 32, residing in Bronx, NY, pled guilty on March 6, 2013 to aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about December 14, 2012 at approximately 12:40 p.m. on West Route 59 in the Village of Spring Valley, the defendant operated a motor vehicle while his driving privileges in the State of New York were suspended and revoked. The defendant has 53 total suspensions on 31 separate dates. On April 17, 2013, the defendant was sentenced by the Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge, to one year in the Rockland County Jail.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Christina Atzl, age 24, residing in Bardonia, NY, pled guilty on August 29, 2012 to aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about June 28, 2012 at approximately 2:01 a.m. on Route 303 in the Town of Clarktown, the defendant operated a motor vehicle upon a public highway while under the influence of alcohol while her driving privileges in the State of New York were suspended. On April 24, 2013, the defendant was sentenced by the Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge to one year in the Rockland County Jail; she needs to install an ignition interlock device on any car that she may own or operate for one year after release from jail, a $500 fine and $395 mandatory court surcharges.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
Luis B. Rosario, age 60, residing at 31 Prospect Street, Garnerville, NY, pled guilty on April 17, 2013 to driving while intoxicated as a felony. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 22, 2013 at approximately 7:76 p.m. on Main Street in the Village of Haverstraw, the defendant was found to have been operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The defendant had a previous DWI conviction in 2006 in the Village of West Haverstraw. Sentencing is scheduled for June 26, 2013 before the Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge.
