RCC COMING TOGETHER TO FIGHT CANCER

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Rockland County, which will be held on June 8-9 at Rockland Community College from 1 p.m. until 6 a.m., brings the community together to raise funds for cancer research and patient services, ultimately helping save lives and creating a world with more birthdays. Relay For Life offers cancer survivors and their loved ones a chance to celebrate survivorship and the birthdays they have celebrated since diagnosis. Individuals are invited to join us at this special event to honor local cancer survivors, to remember all who have battled this disease and to make a difference in the fight against cancer. This year marks the 16th year of Relay For Life in Rockland County, which has raised over $3.5 million since it began in 1998. Highlighting the evening is a touching Luminaria Ceremony, held at nightfall to honor survivors and to remember loved ones lost. Luminaria bags will be lit in honor or in memory of those who have battled cancer, providing light, hope and inspiration to continue the fight throughout the night.

In addition to the Relay For Life of Rockland County on June 8-9, the American Cancer Society will host Relay For Life in communities throughout New York and New Jersey, including on June 14-15 at the Central Avenue Field in Pearl River.
