NOW has had enough of Sheldon Silver

According to a NY Post report, the president of the NY chapter of the National Organization for Women,  Zenaida Mendez, said she believes Sheldon Silver, NYS speaker of the Assembly, should resign over his handling of the Vito Lopez sex harassment case. Silver paid just over $100,000 in state money to complainants against Lopez whom he hoped would remain silent.

Further compounding the scandal, an ethics investigation into the case allegedly omitted an email which portrayed Silver’s own behavior in a scurrilous light, as it contained a phrase from a staff member who suggested Silver had an attraction and possible relationship with one of his aides.

Silver has enjoyed a 19-year tenure as speaker and is generally considered the second most powerful man in Albany. He first joined the Assembly in 1977. He is 69-years-old.
