Aaron Klein: The Man, The Myth, The Muckraker

Aaron Klein delivers the goods on Syria, Benghazi and his new book “Impeachable Offenses” in an exclusive interview with the Rockland County Times

Prominent Jerusalem-based investigative journalist Aaron Klein has given the Rockland County Times a run-down on Syria, Benghazi and his new book “Impeachable Offenses.”

“The president has no choice but to bomb Syria, otherwise he loses all credibility,” said Klein, who is a New York Times bestselling author and columnist for The Jewish Press.

Using chemical weapons was the one “redline” U.S. Pres. Barack H. Obama drew, he said. “Days before the chemical attack in Syria, I received information from Middle Eastern security officials that Turkey was trying to push the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to attack in Syria.”

NATO is an intergovernmental military group whose purpose is to safeguard the freedom and security of its members through political and military means. The rebels, who are backed by Turkey and Saudi Arabia knew that crossing Obama’s redline would bring about a U.S. bombing campaign, he said. “The rebels carried out a false flag operation.”

The staffer for WorldNetDaily said Turkey is an open and main backer of the rebels and a partner with the Muslim Brotherhood. “The rebels are coming from the Turkish border.”

Klein said that while Syrian president Bashar Hafez al-Assad is a mad-man, it would be unlikely that he would launch a chemical weapons attack drawing the ire of the United States. “Al-Assad is backed by very competent forces like Iran and Russia, it really doesn’t make sense for him to attack now – he was winning.”

Russia who is the main backer of Syria’s military, is using this conflict to their advantage because Syria needs their help, he said. “Russia will extract as many concessions from Syria as they can especially more control of the Syrian gas line.”

“The entire situation has enormously helped Russia gain power over Syria,” said the radio talk show host.

Klein said he does not see Russia getting directly involved in a military confrontation with the United States. “Syria is disappointed that Russia has not guaranteed involvement.”

In response to last month’s alleged sarin gas attack on innocent civilians last month in Syria, and at the insistence of the Obama administration, the Senate Foreign Relations committee narrowly passed a resolution to authorize U.S. military intervention on Wednesday. Syria has been embroiled in an armed civil conflict since March 2011.

Klein said that the American news media is doing a poor job in reporting the facts. “I am reporting the news from 5,000 miles away.”

“I stopped trying to figure out why the media is protecting Obama. They understand the full story will come out sooner or later, and they will look like fools for not reporting on it,” said the popular radio talk show host.

While the news media was parroting the Obama administration’s claim that the attacks in Benghazi, Libya were incited by a YouTube video, Klein was gathering real facts. “About a week after the attacks, I received information from Middle Eastern security officials that this was not a consulate; the U.S. never had a consulate in Benghazi – this was a special mission,” he said.

“The mission was being used in part as a headquarters to coordinate aid and weapons to the opposition in Libya and ultimately to the opposition in Syria,” he said.

On Sept. 11, 2012 a heavily armed group engaged the American headquarters which resulted in the killing of four people, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.

“Stevens was one of the chief facilitators of providing weapons to opposition groups,” said Klein.

Middle Eastern security sources told Klein that a refusal to return arms could explain why the facility was attacked, he said. “The American government is arming a witches’ brew of Libyan rebels which includes al Qaeda; then when they attempted to collect those arms to redistribute them to the Syrian rebels, the Libyans did not want to give them back.”

The real story behind Benghazi is the weapons transfers, said the Yeshiva University graduate. “This is a 100 percent failure of the United States media to fully report the weapons transfers. This should be a defining Obama scandal like the Iran-Contra scandal of Ronald Reagan.”

A political scandal erupted in Nov. 1986 when it was reported that senior officials in the Ronald W. Reagan presidential administration were secretly selling arms to Iran.

Klein’s rise to prominence over the past five years stems from his breaking history-altering news stories of corruption and scandal in the international arena. In his new book “Impeachable Offenses” Klein documents possible impeachable offenses of President Obama. Here are some of them:

a. The passage of the Affordable Healthcare Act, also known as ObamaCare is not only unconstitutional but also illegally bypasses Congress, infringes on states’ rights, and marks an unprecedented and unauthorized expansion of Internal Revenue Service power;

b. Obama has granted largely unreported de facto amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, bypassing Congress and probably used illegal interagency directives and executive orders, in a complete abuse of executive authority and the constitutional separation of powers;

c. The White House has recklessly endangered the public by releasing from prison criminal illegal aliens at a rate far beyond what is publicly known;

d. A devastating probe of the president’s personal role in the Benghazi terrorist attacks shows how Obama and top officials deliberately and repeatedly lied to the American public and denied security to American staff both prior to and immediately following the attacks;

e. Obama engaged in a willful cover-up in Benghazi that ultimately fomented anti-American sentiment, aided an Islamist revolution, and armed our most dangerous al-Qaeda enemies;

f. Documents Obama’s push for federal gun control legislation inappropriately and impeachable offenses arise from the federal government’s gun-running operation to Mexico;

g. Three full chapters are dedicated to Obama’s gathering of intelligence on citizens and compiling massive databases of public and private records;

h. It probes how Obama has expanded the Dept. of Homeland Security in alarming ways. Americans are fast arriving at the stage of living under a virtual surveillance regime, featuring everything from “fusion centers” to domestic spy drones;

i. Presents new evidence of rank corruption, cronyism, and possible impeachable offenses related to Obama’s first-term, “green” funding adventures misusing public funds;
