PUBLIC INVITED TO CELEBRATE INAUGURATION OF ROCKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE ED DAY

Rockland County Legislator Ed Day is inviting members of the community to take part in a celebration of change and partnership, as he takes the oath of office of Rockland County executive.

โ€œI want local residents of all ages and backgrounds to feel that Rockland County is moving forward, that we are a community with a shared vision, that we have a direction and we will get there together,โ€ said Day.

Day will be sworn in as the third Rockland County executive on New Yearโ€™s Day. The inauguration will begin at 11 a.m. at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, with a reception following the ceremony. Everyone is invited.

โ€œThe inauguration is a way to highlight the themes of my administration,โ€ Day said. โ€œAs we immediately take on the countyโ€™s massive fiscal problems, we will look to engage taxpayers from Tomkins Cove to Tappan. As I said on Election Night, โ€˜This is your victory.โ€™ Now is the time for action, not words, and we must all come together, as neighbors, to keep Rockland County a great place to live and learn. A bold agenda and cooperation among residents today will make it possible for future generations to live here tomorrow. Letโ€™s take the first steps together.โ€

The inaugural ceremony and reception will be held at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, 35 Firemenโ€™s Memorial Drive, Pomona, New York. Seating is first-come, first-serve. Attendees are asked to arrive by 10:45 a.m.
