Fieldstone Student takes first prize in North Rockland Lions Club “Peace Poster Contest”

The North Rockland Lions Club recognized Michelle Byun who is the Clubs 2013-2014 “ Peace Poster” contest winner. Michelle is an eighth grade student at the Field-Stone School in Thiells. With her proud family looking on, she received a $100 check, a certificate of achievement, and a trophy for her winning entry.

Second place winner Emily Almanzar of Stony Point and third place winner Stephen Rush of Stony Point were also present with their families. Each received a check, award certificate and a trophy recognizing their accomplishment. Lion Charlie Jenks and the P.P. Chair Lion President Roswitha Wallburg congratulated the students and presented the Awards. The theme of the 2013-2014 contest was “Our world, our future.”

Art Director MS. Karen Baumann from the North Rockland High School thanked the club for its continued support of the Peace Poster program at the school. Mrs. Robin Alba the Art Teacher from the Fieldstone School was also present.Peace Poster Chair Roswitha Wallburg announced that the North Rockland Lions Club will again sponsor the contest in 2014-2015

The theme will be “Peace, love and understanding.”
