O’Grady-Brown Scholarship Fund Accepting 2014 Applications

A memorial to Sgt. Edward J. O'Grady and Police Officer Waverly L. Brown at the New York State Thruway Exit 11 southbound entrance ramp just off Route 59 in Nyack, where one of the deadly Brink's robbery shootout took places. A scholarship fund and an annual memorial service continue to pay tribute to the slain Nyack police officers. The incident took place during the era in which Nyack had its own police force - before the village turned over police responsibilities to the towns of Orangetown and Clarkstown.
