A visit from a furry friend

Neighbors on Deer Run in Tomkins Cove receive an up close and person visit from a small bear the afternoon of Thursday, July 3.

Though police say such visitations by bears are common this time of year, homeowner Dennis Dodrill said it was the first time he’d seen a bear on or near his property after living at the address for 18 years.

The bear headed towards a nearby Boy Scout camp and has not been seen since July 3.
