A New City resident was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly broke into parked cars at the Nanuet Fairway and took at least one item of value.
Police stated that at around 6 p.m. they received a tip from an Upper Saddle River man, who reported a young man trying to get into parked cars in the Fairway parking lot. After searching the area, officers found Matthew Davidowicz, 24, an individual at the scene who matched the description provided by the witness.
In addition to being seen attempting to gain access to the cars, Davidowicz is suspected by police of taking a credit card from a parked vehicle. He allegedly used the card to make a purchase.
Davidowicz stands charged with first degree falsification of business records, a felony, and fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. He is currently being held at the Rockland County Jail on $5,000 bail and is due back in court on July 30.
