Heat spawns cooling centers

Late summer has brought the region its first serious heat wave of 2014.

The Town of Ramapo announced today that the following Cooling Centers have been established in the town:

• Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
• The Joseph T. St. Lawrence Center, 115 Torne   Valley Rd., Hillburn (7 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
• Ramapo Senior Citizen Center, 319 Haverstraw Rd., Route 202, Montebello  (8 a.m. –4 p.m.)
