EMPIRE CITY CONTINUES HOLIDAY TRADITION OF GIVING BACK

For the eighth consecutive year, Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway teamed up to make the holiday season happier for the less fortunate. Empire City hosted the “Christmas Spirit Toy and Coat Drive” through Wednesday, December 17, collecting donations every day throughout the holiday season.

Hundreds of new, unwrapped toys and new or gently used coats were presented to Catholic Charities-supported agencies at a December 17 press conference. The toy and coat drive has become a holiday tradition at Empire City Casino, said Empire City CEO Timothy J. Rooney.

“There are no greater deeds than charity and service,” Rooney said, calling it a guiding philosophy of his company.
