After two years the long wait is over for the premiere of “True Story,” a movie featuring a scene filmed at Sparky’s Diner in Garnerville. The film, starring James Franco and Jonah Hill, and co-produced by Brad Pitt, will hit theaters April 17.

Franco plays Christian Longo in the movie, a man on the FBI’s most wanted list for allegedly murdering his wife and three children in Oregon, but who had successfully stolen the identity of NY Times journalist Michael Finkel, played by Hill. The movie is based on a true story, naturally.

Restaurant owner Jeannie Nickolakis said she plans to do something special for the opening, but she’s not sure what. Filming occurred at Sparky’s during April 2013.
