“SPACE does not endorse candidates but we sponsor a debate each election year to allow the pubic to hear directly from the candidates that are running for local elected office,” says SPACE president, George Potanovic, Jr. “Being an informed voter is essential to or democracy and we believe that public debate provides both an important forum for the candidates to speak directly to the public about their plans to address the critical issues facing Stony Point as well as describe their vision for the future of our town.”
The 2015 debate will include candidates running for Town of Stony Point Supervisor, Town of Stony Point Town Council and Rockland County Legislature, District 1. The public can submit written questions for the candidates on the evening of the debate and in advance by mailing them to SPACE, PO BOX 100; Stony Point, NY 10980 or by email to: info@stonypointer.org.
