Eighteen organizations from across New York State have joined the Minimum Wage Reality Check campaign (http://www.minimumwagerealitycheck.com/) as of this week. In total, the Minimum Wage Reality Check campaign is now supported by 50 organizations. These new supporters represent a large and diverse group of employers in every region of the state.
The 18 organizations include:

· Orange County Chamber of Commerce
· Cheektowaga Chamber of Commerce

“With the addition of these 18 organizations, this campaign is stronger than ever,” said Greg Biryla, executive director of Unshackle Upstate – one of the campaign’s original 26 supporting organizations. “New Yorkers across the state – especially small business owners, farmers and taxpayers – aren’t buying into the rosy rhetoric surrounding this minimum wage proposal. They know that this unprecedented $15.7 billion mandate will lead to job losses, tax increases and a higher cost of living – and they’re speaking out in opposition.”
The Minimum Wage Reality Check campaign has published several new testimonials provided by employers from across New York. These real-world stories provide concrete examples of how they’ll be impacted by a 67-percent minimum wage increase.
