Rockland Auctions Contents of Closed Summit Park Nursing Home

COUNTY PRESS RELEASE

Need a mechanical tower folder? Or a used dental chair? What about a 27-year-old x-ray machine?

Those are among the items that were once used at the Summit Park nursing home and are now being auctioned by Rockland County.

The county-owned nursing home was closed nearly a year ago when a prospective buyer backed out of the deal at the last minute.

“Because we were forced to close Summit Park, we have no use for this equipment,” said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. “We are selling it at auction to make it available to others who can it.”

The county will keep proceeds from the sale.

The online auction for the equipment is now being held on GovDeals at www.govdeals.com, said Rockland Purchasing Director Paul Brennan.

“Additional items are being added weekly,” he said.

Some new items are also being sold, including bed linen and patient gowns.

Rockland is selling the used equipment as is, subject to the terms of the auction. The winning bidder will be responsible for all de-installation and removal costs.

The County will make the equipment available for inspection by contacting the Purchasing Division at 845-364-3820 or at purchasing.co.rockland.ny.us.

All prospective bidders are welcome and encouraged to inspect the equipment prior to bidding.
