The surprise early favorite for the 2017 Spring Valley mayoral race is former Village Justice Alan Simon. He was stripped of his judge’s robes several months ago by a state Appeals Court panel, but some political observers believe he has enough popularity amongst various Spring Valley constituencies to win the November race. The seat is currently held by Demeza Delhomme, no stranger to unfavorable court rulings himself.
