First-ever “Great Nyack Get Together” set for September 16

With between 75 and 100 nonprofits participating, the first-ever Great Nyack Get-Together on September 16 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. is free and fun way to highlight organizations that serve the village.

“The goal is to have the event be as paperless a presence as possible,” event co-chair and Village of Nyack Recreation Director Melody Partick explained. Visitors can move from booth to booth (each 10’ x 10’) as at a street fair; however, they’ll go home after a fun day at Memorial Park instead of having to carry a bag of paper information.

There is no charge for nonprofits; a nominal fee will be charged to for-profits. No selling save for street vendors will be permitted, and every participating nonprofit will provide a free activity for the public.

Some companies are sponsoring an event, some are sponsoring part of the day, and there are different sponsorship levels.

The group of 15 volunteer organizers challenged nonprofits to share their information creatively and in a way that would make the public remember each group’s cause. Soliciting is prohibited; however, guests may contribute donations if they wish.

A free shuttle van service between Bell-ans Open Studio and Memorial Park will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nyack parking rules are in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rain date is September 23. Visit http://www.greatnyackgettogether.com/.
