North Rockland Full Day Kindergarten Advocates are holding a community meeting at the Stony Point RHO, 5 Clubhouse Lane on Thursday September 21 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting will focus on a short overview of the NR Full Day Kindergarten efforts, ideas for moving the Full Day initiative forward, and a letter writing session to Gov Andrew Cuomo will also be held.
The group is asking for donations of envelopes and stamps. The group requests attendees bring their own pens to letters to be sent to Governor Cuomo’s office.
In June, at the close of the 2017 legislative session NYS Gov. Andrew Cuomo pledged to make funding Full Day Kindergarten a priority and the North Rockland Full Day Kindergarten advocates are seeking to have the Governor stick to his promise.
The NR Full Day K advocacy has partnered with the Pittsford, Brighton, Washingtonville, and Shendehowa school districts to make full day kindergarten a reality for all New York Children.
