Good news fellow Americans. The general public has been granted security clearance to enjoy the cuisine and incredible environment at West Point Club – located right in the heart of our nation’s foremost military academy.

“We have the best brunch in the Hudson Valley,” boasts Chef Ed Miller.

Held Sundays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. from February 18 through November 11 in the Club’s Pierce Room, brunch in the historic venue costs only $28 for adults and $14 for children.

Miller has over four decades experience as a chef, with much of that time spent cooking for enlisted men. The experience comes in handy as West Point Club caters a diverse array of events including tailgating parties for Army football, wedding parties of hundreds of people as well as graduation celebrations and more.

In between the big events, the Club moves along smoothly, churning out its weekly Sunday brunch and as of April 9, a daily menu for the gourmet cafeteria “Bistro 603.”

Now, readers, let me ask you all a question. It’s a question not a riddle. What is better than great food?

How about this… enjoying that same great food in a grand ballroom that many of our nation’s leaders and warriors have sat in. And as you sit and eat in that grand ballroom you look out over the serene Hudson River, taking it all in as if it’s the first time. Glancing to the north, you imagine Revolutionary War soldiers laying a chain across the Hudson to halt the advance of the redcoats. You glance at your plate and return to the slice of culinary heaven thereon.

That. That is better than great food. That is a great way for an American to have lunch. I’ve made my point.

Back to the story; the West Point Club venue has been in operation in one form or another for over 80 years, but somehow has remained a bit of a secret. Chef Miller, staff and management feel it’s time for the Club to say hello to the public.

Given a chance to experience the Club, its amazing grand ballroom, or the majestic Athena room governed by a towering statue of the Greek Goddess herself, the public will fall in love.

The public – that means you, readers.

Chef Miller and the team encourage Rocklanders to make the trip up Rt. 9W to sample the Club’s offerings. It is the sort of venue that you will be looking for an excuse to return to.

West Point Club’s next big event is Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 13. It also plays host to Murder Mystery Theater on certain weekends, including this Saturday, April 28.

If the West Point Club interests you call 845-938-5120 for more information. As the venue is situated in the heart of our nation’s foremost military academy, there is varying protocol to enter the grounds.
