District 7 Candidate: Avrohom Yalekewitz, Republican

Avrohom Yalekewitz was born in Israel and came to Rockland, New York when he was three years old. He attended school in the county and graduated from Fordham Law School in 2019. He was admitted to the NYS bar in January 2020 and has been practicing in Rockland County since then.

As a law student Yalekewitz has studied tax law and the legislative process, so by his own account he is “well equipped to be a legislator.” “I also practice real estate law, so I am familiar with the different neighborhoods and where the infrastructure needs to be improved.”

Yalekewitz is a fiscal conservative and hopes to be a vote to support Ed Day in his “never ending battle to reign in out-of-control government spending.” He also intends on standing with Day in his fight against Mayor Adams’ plan to relocate its homeless residents to Rockland County and its municipalities.
