North Rockland Business Alliance to Match up to $1,500 in Donations for West Haverstraw Explosion Victims

The North Rockland Business Alliance has approved up to $1,500 in matching funds for victims of the blast that occurred on January 16, 2012 and affected several homeowners, as well as injured firefighters attempting to safeguard lives.

The Towns of Haverstraw and Village of West Haverstraw have set up two disaster funds to aid in the relief of those who were affected by this event. The North Rockland Business Alliance will match any donations made by community members in the month of February, up to a total matching outlay by the NRBA of $1500.

Thus, a donation made by a community member of just $20 will be matched by the NRBA in the amount of an additional $20, for a combined amount of $40. In total, community effort can help raise an additional $3000 for those affected by the disaster.

The NRBA plans to offer the matching funds for disaster relief by the end of February for the affected residents and fire fighters, or sooner if they find that donations by the community have reached the additional $1500 target.
