Confusion in Charlotte

Woops! While saluting our men and women in the armed forces at last week’s Democratic National Convention, the party of Jefferson accidentally (we presume) showed video footage of Russian warships on the Black Sea, instead of an American naval fleet.

Rob Barker is the man who first spotted the error. “I was kind of in shock,” the 38-year-old Naval veteran told the Navy Times. “An immediate apology [from the committee] would be very nice,” he continued. “Maybe acknowledge the fact that yes, they screwed up.”

When media pointed the mistake out to the Democrats this week, leaders did not comment.

Earlier in the convention the Democrats had another moment of confusion, when delegates famously voted against including God and Jerusalem in their platform three times. The shocked leadership of the party ignored their delegates wishes and included amendment to the platform anyway, resulting in a chorus of boos.

It’s been said in the aftermath of the embarrassing moment, that the Democrats are the first American political party to ever boo God. President Obama seemed to compensate for the God-booing of the Democratic delegates in his acceptance speech. He called on providence to assist the nation during the speech.
