Dominican College To Host Active Shooter Drill For Rockland County

On August 13 at 6 p.m., Casey Hall on the campus of Dominican College will be the site of a mock shooter crisis. This collaborative drill will involve the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office R.E.A.C.T. (Rescue Entry and Counter Terrorism) Team, the Orangetown Police Department, and teams from Dominican College Public Safety and Dominican College Facilities. Students of the College have volunteered to be role players in the drill.

The College performs drills each year to simulate possible crises. These drills serve to build relationships with first responders around the County and to proactively assess strengths and challenges in dealing with potential threats. For more information about the event, please contact John Lennon, Director of Safety and Security at Dominican College, [email protected] or 845-848-4061.
