Suffern Christmas Parade
Starting at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Orange and Lafayette Avenues in Suffern, the Village of Suffern a Christmas parade will be held, led by the Suffern High School Marching Band. The Fire Departments will participate in this festive arrival of Santa to the Village. The parade will proceed up Lafayette Avenue to the Gazebo where the Christmas tree will be lit. NCOC Holiday Lights Event
From 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Veterans Park Gazebo in the heart of Nyack (Main and Cedar), the Nyack Chamber of Commerce Holiday Lights event will take and will include live caroling, free refreshments, the tree lighting, a holiday story reading and visit from Santa. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish House, located at 220 Brick Church Rd. in Spring Valley, the Brick Church of West New Hempstead will be holding their annual Christmas Fair. The Christmas Carol Trio
At 2 p.m. at New City Library, located at 220 North Main Street, an enchanting program of 17th and 18th century carols from England, Ireland, France, Germany and the American Colonies (sung in English, French and German), with narratives explaining the origins of the holiday’s traditions and dรฉcor will be held. HSRC Saint Nicholas Day
The Historical Society of Rockland County will open the doors to the 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House for a memorable program of wonder and fun! Children of all ages are welcome to celebrate Saint Nicholas Day, as has been the tradition at the HSRC since 1961. Each child receives a special treat in his/her shoe from Saint Nicholas and everyone can visit with Saint Nicholas and his horse.ย Also being held December 8. Dominican College Christmas Concert
At 3 p.m. in the Hennessy Center of Dominican College, located at 470 Western Highway in Orangeburg, the Dominican College Christmas Concert featuring the Reverend Alphonse Stephenson and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea will be held. Tickets for the concert are priced at $30 for General Admission; $25 for Seniors/ DC Employees and $15 for Students with School ID. Concert tickets include a post-performance dessert reception. We are also pleased to once again host our Holiday Buffet at 1 p.m. in Granito Center, at a cost of $20 per person. UHR Tree Lighting
At 7:30 p.m., the United Hospice of Rockland (UHR) will hold its annual Tree of Life Celebration on Level One of the Palisades Center near Banana Republic. The Trees will be illuminated during a special ceremony, complete with complimentary refreshments and wonderful entertainment by the Dominican College Chorale. Snow date is December 12. Starting at 10:45 a.m., at the Historic Lafayette Theater in Suffern the Town of Ramapoโs 11th Annual Christmas Show will take place. Ring in the Holidays with the Rockland County Choral Society
At 3 p.m. at Living Christ Church, located at 151 S. Broadway, S. Nyack, the Rockland County Choral Society returns to Nyack to perform seasonal selections lead by long-time conductor Philip Hagemann. Songs include the spiritual Rise Up, Shepherd, God Rest You Merry, Gentlemenwhich was used in the play Nicholas Nickleby, plus a clever arrangement that combines The First Noel and Pachelbel’s Canon, among others. $20 general/$15 students and seniors.
