Kristen Wicks is First Woman to be Named a Fire Company President in North Rockland

Kristen Wicks has been named president of Wayne Hose Company in Stony Point. She’s the first female president of a fire company in north Rockland, officials said.

Other house officers named include, Tom Cass Jr. as vice president; Ryan Flood, recording secretary; Christopher Huslinger Jr., corresponding secretary, Peter Hubert Sr., financial secretary; Kevin Huslinger II, treasurer; Timothy Phillips, assistant treasurer; Jeff Gizzi, Sgt. at arms; and Craig Robinson, steward.

The Board of Directors are comprised of Ed Geary, chairman; Steven Fischer, vice chairman; and Fred Bohlander and Brendan Phillips as directors. One director position remains unfilled at this time.

Jessica Pohlman from Suffern Fire Dept in 2007 was the first ever woman president in Rockland County. There have only been a handful of women fire co. presidents in the entire Hudson Valley.
