Haverstraw group seeks to fill 1,000 backpacks for charity

Once again the Haverstraw Holiday Meal Committee will be giving away backpacks filled with school supplies from children from K – 12. The event will be held on Sunday, August 24 from 2 – 5 p.m.

Location to be determined.

Last year the group gave-away over 500 backpacks filled with school supplies and provided a luncheon of hamburger, hotdogs, activities for the children & music. They are currently in the process of collecting schools supplies and back packs and monetary donations to purchase the food for this year’s event with a goal of a whopping 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.
