A lawsuit filed by former Democratic highway superintendent candidate Dennis Malone against Rockland legislator and Highway Dept. employee Frank Sparaco has been dropped.
Maloneโs lawsuit contested that Sparaco had defamed his character by secretly taping and releasing to the public conversations in which representatives of Malone, including Clarkstown Councilman Frank Borelli, appear to offer Sparaco gifts and favors in return for his political support.
Malone had claimed the tapes were edited and misleading.
Sparaco told the Rockland County Times that he suspects Malone dropped the case because he was scheduled to be deposed before an attorney. Maloneโs official legal reason given for dropping the suit was that Sparaco did not come forward with a supposed five more hours of tapes.
