Stephanie’s Adventures in Singledom: Relationships We Take For Granted

As Thanksgiving is approaching, I sit here and think about all the relationships in my life and how they have added to my life in one form or another. It’s amazing to think how over this past year, a lot has transpired in my relationships. For instance, I got rid of certain friendships that no longer fit me, added friendships that make my life richer and better, and also decided on what type of romantic relationship I seek.

You are the editor in your own lives. Sometimes you have to photoshop your life. Touch up edges, adjust the tones, blur the background, focus on yourself & crop some people out. In addition, you also have to add some people to it.

Thanksgiving is a time when I think for most of us, we realize just how valuable certain relationships are to us and the meaning of actually, “giving thanks,” takes on a new meaning. Don’t miss the blessings in your life because you are too busy counting your troubles. We always have something to be thankful for. Be thankful for what you have. You have no idea how many people would love to have what you’ve got.

The smile on my face doesn’t mean my life is perfect. I just appreciate what I have and what God has blessed me with. A simple way to be grateful is to close your eyes for a minute and think of those who never got a chance to open them.

As for relationships, everyone comes with baggage from previous relationships, but it’s the one who wants to stand there & help you UNPACK that truly loves you. True love isn’t something you find when you’re looking for it, it’s something that finds you when you need it the most. And when it finds you, stop and be grateful.

It’s one of the most powerful feelings in the entire world. To know that someone loves you despite your imperfections, is the greatest thing in the world. There comes a time in life that we have to completely let go of our pasts and move on with our future.

The only thing that stands between a person & what they want in life is the will to try it & the faith to believe its possible. And with love, anything is possible.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers! Enjoy.
