Route 9W Long-term Lane Closure

Town of Highlands, Orange County

Motorists are advised that the right, southbound lane of US Route 9W from Theresia Way to Firefighters Memorial Drive in the town of Highlands, Orange County, will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 8 and will remain closed through May 2015, for bridge maintenance. Over the period of the next six months, crews will perform painting and general maintenance.

The left southbound lane will remain open, as will both northbound lanes, however motorists may experience delays.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
