Tragedy on East Main St. Stony Pt.

STONY POINT — A 22-year-old West Haverstraw woman lost her life early Saturday morning after hitting a utility pole on East Main St. with her 2004 Corolla and rolling down a 70-foot embankment.

Victim Brianna Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:29 a.m. She had been ejected from the vehicle.

Rodriguez’s Facebook profile stated she was a 2010 North Rockland High School graduate and an employee of Stop and Shop. A friend said she recently had been a volunteer for a Halloween Haunted House put together by local youths.

Stony Point PD said they have not determined the cause of the accident at this time. The road was closed for several hours Saturday morning.
