NJROTC

Kicking off the 2017-2018 NJROTC school year began with NRHS’s own summer academy program. Every year senior cadets, from sophomore and older, introduce incoming freshmen that are interested in the ROTC program by training them in the three day Summer Academy program. This program took place from August 23-25 at the high school and was ran by the cadets themselves under the command of C/Lieutenant Commander Natalie Knopf the units Commanding Officer. These incoming freshman did everything from learning to march and follow commands to doing community service around the school across the few days to earn their first ribbon. Mixed in the few days everyone including staff participated in physical training such as running a timed mile and daily stretches every morning. The graduation ceremony took place on the last day on the 25th where the freshman’s parents observed the ceremony and a video was shown to sum up the past few days.
