Village Hall of Spring Valley celebrates Cinco de Mayo

For the first time in the history, the Mayor Alan Simon celebrated in the parlors of the Village Hall along with the trustees and employees of the Village of Spring Valley, the celebration of Cinco de Mayo, the event was accompanied by folkloric groups, mariachi and DJ La Leona who kept the happiness of the attendants. The Mayor thanked the people who attended and mentioned that the doors will be open for the residents of Spring Valley and they will always be welcomed for service with kindness.

During the French-Mexican War (1861-1867), an outnumbered Mexican army defeats a powerful invading French force at the small town of Puebla de Los Angeles. The retreat of the French troops at the Battle of Puebla represented a great moral victory for the people of Mexico, symbolizing the country’s ability to defend its sovereignty against a powerful foreign nation.
